Trp hy rd oil

I was initially planning to do the TRP Hy/Rd, because I heard they worked Cable actuated hydraulic that uses mineral oil & common XT pads.

19 May 2017 I've bought some TRP HY/RD disk brakes to replace the stock Hayes reservoir with mineral oil, which generally fixed the problem but often  28 Apr 2015 TRP Hy/Rd Disc Brake. TRP HY/RD brakes, any good? I have a Cannondale CAADX that's a few years old with mechanical disc brakes. The mechanical disc brakes leave a lot to be desired. Other then the fact that they may work a little better in the rain then rim brakes, I don't see any benefit to them. When not raining, I'd rather be using my rim brakes.

You can try topping off the fluid by gently opening up the reservoir cap and filling the reservoir with mineral oil till it's at the brim. Also another thing to check is if any oil is leaking from the plunger. Salt Lake City, UT, 21 November 2013 – By now you’re keenly aware that I’ve had a road bike custom built by Mike DeSalvo spec’d with TRP HY/RD disc brakes. I’ll discuss the frame, which is, as one of my LBS’s race-experienced employees said, “the most beautiful bike I’ve ever seen,” in a separate post. TRP is proud to help Marine slow down—but only when SHE wants to. Marine rides our DH-R brake and DH7 Drivetrain. TRP is a proud partner of the Scott DH team and so pleased to see young talent, like Marine, rise to the top. Watch the full video in the post. TRP HY/RD brakes, any good? The HY/RD is the latest iteration of our industry-leading efforts to bring hydraulic performance to the developing road/cross disc market. Using an open hydraulic system it’s compatible with Shimano and SRAM 11 speed road shift levers. For compatibility questions contact us to ensure this caliper will work with your existing levers. Your HY/RD disc brake is engineered to use TRP/Tektro branded Mineral Oil, which is environmentally friendly and offers increased performance by limisting the absorption of water better than DOT based oils. Use of other manufacturers’ oils will void the warranty and may negatively impact the performance of Your HY-ROAD disc brake is engineered to use TRP/Tektro branded Mineral Oil, which is environmentally friendly and offers increased performance by limiting the absorption of water better than DOT based oils. A silver cap sits on top of the reservoir, the TRP HY/RD uses mineral oil . TRP has come up with the answer for all of us mechanical road disc “early adopters” who want to add state of the art performance to their existing bikes at a reasonable cost. The HY/RD’s smooth hydraulic action helped introduce me to the blissful sounds of silence. TRP's HY/RD has thoroughly tested to bring this technology up to speed and back to the cycling market. The HY/RD is compatible with all existing cable-actuated systems, saving you major coin over fully-hydraulic designs that require new shift levers. It also reduces clutter at the bars by locating the hydraulic mechanism at the caliper. IMO, TRP Hy/Rd is the best hybrid disc brake system in the industry so far. The master cylinder is integrated with the caliper so that the cable can be used to push the cylinder. However, manufactures of road levers have different cable pull ratio so some setups will have excessive brake pull.
